The first non art event to be held in The Turbine Hall of the Tate Modern, the brief was to make the Turbine hall feel like
you were "on the grid". Our canvas was the east wall, and we created an entire evenings live visual mix solely from trailers of the
film and a Tron toolkit of iconic clips supplied by Disney.
We edited sequences for display on the inhouse plasma screen system, created bespoke loops for the 17" screens worn by the walkabout Tron characters, and prerecorded a "club like" visual mix for the futuristic Tron vodka bar which was built on the bridge of the hall. As it had only ever been used as part of the Unilver series of installations, the Tate were keen to preserve the artistic integrity of the East Wall, and so we were unable to photograph or film any of the projected show. The photos in the gallery do, however, show the scale and atmosphere of the event. |
